Ring... Ring... Fish Phone for You!

Here's Rin with one of the little cloth fish at Furatto. I know it's the day after Christmas, but he looked so cute in his Santa suit I wanted to take him out in it again.

TOYS!!!

Rin has gotten a lot of great Christmas toys and I just wanted to say thanks to everyone. He loves all his toys and he plays with them all day long. Here he is with the busy table Aunt Kate got him.

Sleepy Angel

Here's Rin sleeping on the mat in the living room. When he woke up he had the pattern on his face.

With Kumiko

Here's Rin with Kumiko again

Happy Solstice

Today is the winter solstice and here in Japan it's traditional to eat pumpkin. So here is Rin eating pumpkin and rice.

Let it Snow!

I got anew phone and its camera is waaaay better than the camera on my old phone. Here's Rin wrapped up nice and toasty warm.

The Handsomest Boys in Town

Here is Rin with his buddy Rui. They are the two handsomest babies I've ever seen.

Rin in Box

Here is Rin in the box from the AWESOME Christmas present his Auntie Kate got him! Thanks Auntie Kate. I'll try to get a pic of him playing with the actual present up later.

With Emiko

Here is Rin with one of my newest students Emiko. I love how fat he looks in this picture.

Teeth!

I noticed this Monday that Rin had begun to cut his first two teeth. Here's a toothy smile.
... and a close-up.

Bath Time Again

Here's Rin in his bath. He's beginning to get a little too big for the baby tub, and it's a little tough to wash him now, since he wants to be up and doing, not sitting around and getting scrubbed. I gave him a little leaf, because last time I posted naked pics of him to photobucket they were deleted as obscene!

Deep Sleep

He's so CUTE!

Rin's Food Diary

Rin's been trying lots of new foods, and so far he loves them all. He started on rice gruel, then had spinach , then rice gruel with spinach in it. After that he had bread gruel and then bread gruel with spinach. Today he had soybeans with spinach and next up on the menu is soybeans with codfish.

An Early Christmas Present

Rin's present from Mommy and Daddy this year was a Bumbo! We got it last Sunday, but we figured it would be a waste not to start using it right away. (It's not like Rin even knows what Christmas is anyway.) He really likes it a lot, but he's already figured out how to wiggle out of it. Our little Houdini!

Also, the pink thing he's chomping on is his icy teether, because his two little bottom teeth are just beginning to come in.

In the Still of the Night

Rin and I took Rosie for a walk in the park last night and he LOVED zooming around the jogging course. Just look how happy he is!

With Daddy at Furatto

I made Sho-chan come with us to Furatto this Sunday, but he was not to keen on it and said once was enough for him. Oh well...
BTW the green thing Rin is chewing on is the fishing-pole for the magnet fishing game. Rin can't catch the fish himself yet, obviously, but he likes to try and grab whatever fish I've caught.

For Karen

This is Rin in his Aussie Babies onesie which was given to him by my friend Karen from TJP. Thanks Karen!

I are serious baby. This is serious blog.

Here's a lol-rin for you. I love the oh-so-serious look he has in this pic.

And the original serious cat for context.

With Nio-san

Here's Rin with my student Mrs. Nio. Unfortunately I couldn't get him to smile. The Japanese says "Let me go!"

With Nao

Here's Rin with my student and friend Nao.

P.S. Be sure to scroll down, as I've added a bunch of new pics today!

Mmmm, This Key is Deee-licious!

Here is Rin with one of his favorite toys- a baby cell-phone that really rings. He sometimes seems like he's figured out how to push the buttons, but mostly he just chews on the rubber key that's attached to it.

虎穴に入らずんば虎児を得ず

The title of this post says: "You can't catch a baby tiger without going into the tiger's den" - which is a Japanese proverb meaning something like: "Nothing ventured, nothing gained". I caught this baby tiger right in my living room though!

A Teeny-tiny Bookworm

Rin's off to a good start, although he usually tries to eat his picture books rather than read them...

Sleepy Bear

Here's yet another cute sleeping pic, this time with an adorable little hat.

Happy Puppy

Here is Rin in his puppy-dog fleece. Look at that smile.

He's got Popeye beat

Rin loves his spinich. Here's the aftermath.

Little Yankee Fan

Here's Rin in his Yankees T-shirt at Furatto, of course

Tokuoka-san

This is my student Tokuoka-san with Rin

Foot work

Here's Rin's latest pic. He was grabbing his feet before I took the pic and I wanted to catch that, but once I got out the camera, he lost interest in his feet.

The Calpis Kid

Recently Rin has become fascinated by plastic juice bottles. Here he is with Mommy's Calpis.

Back to the Ball Pool

Here is Rin in the ball pool again. I know I've taken a lot of these, but I think it's such a charming background, I just can't help it. This picture is currently the wallpaper on my cell, BTW.

Flying Rin

This Monday was a holiday so Shoichi, Rosie, Rin and I all went out to the lake together. We had a great time, especially Rosie, who got to swim again for the first time in a long time.

アンパンマン体操: Anpanman Dance

Recently we've been going to the Anpanman exercise time at Furatto. All the kids get a little Anpanman hat and they dance to the Anpanman song "San-san". The first time a kid/baby comes they get a stamp card, and after each time they do the dance they get one stamp. When the card is filled up they get some kind of toy. There are 30 squares on the card and we've filled 8 so far.

Ganbaru zo!

ABC boy

Here's Rin on his ABC mat, in his diapy after getting covered in mushy rice

Rin's Second Meal

Unfortunately, I forgot to get to get out the camera for Rin's first meal, but I made sure to take some pictures of him covered in gloopy rice gruel at his second meal. Enjoy!

King of Sanda

Here's another "King of" pic. As you might have guessed from the post-title it says "King of Sanda"

Ready for Winter

I've recently re-discovered the photoediting feature on my phone's camera, and I've been playing around with adding text to pictures. This one says:"I'm toasty-woasty" and "King of protection against cold"
