We happened to run into my former student Yuuko at the mall the other day with the biggest belly this side of a sumo, and she gave birth this Thursday the 25th to baby Kouta (康汰). He weighed a whopping 3525g (Rin was 3175g) and has a beautiful head of black hair. Congratulations to both of them and to her husband (who I've unfortunately yet to meet). The woman holding Kouta is my old ob/gyn Dr. Fujioka who was Yuuko's doctor too!

I remember Dr. Fujioka - but I think I had forgottten how tiny Rin was! seeing him in this picture with baby Kouta is amazing - and Kouta is so much bigger than Rin was!
