With Nurse Ibaragi

We went to the hospital on the 30th to visit the Nishida's new baby and we also chatted with the nurses and midwives who were there for Rin's birth. This is Nurse Ibaragi was a great support to me and a very funny lady. Unfortunately Rin looks less then thrilled to be held.

One Sick Baby

Just look at those sleepy eyes and those red cheeks. Poor Rin had a fever of 103°F!!!

Congratulations Yuuko and Kouta!

We happened to run into my former student Yuuko at the mall the other day with the biggest belly this side of a sumo, and she gave birth this Thursday the 25th to baby Kouta (康汰). He weighed a whopping 3525g (Rin was 3175g) and has a beautiful head of black hair. Congratulations to both of them and to her husband (who I've unfortunately yet to meet). The woman holding Kouta is my old ob/gyn Dr. Fujioka who was Yuuko's doctor too!

Lady Killer

We went to the hospital today for Rin's weekly weigh-in and he's doing great: 4432g! He was the pet of all the nurses and midwives; they kept saying how cute he was and how advanced. Here he is with one nurse doing the patented Rin-2-finger-suck.
