A Family Affair

The three of us took a walk around the neighborhood.

Long Time No Keeper

Here's the first keeper pic in a long time.

Fujiwara-san

Here's Rin with his much-beloved babysitter, Mrs. Fujiwara.

Walkin' the Walk

Rin is getting better and better at walking and here's the first photo!

Slide Time

After we got back from Sanda-dani Park, we went straight to Ni-choume Park. A double dose of park action! At Ni-choume Park Rin had a great time climbing up the slide. He is super fast and can make it all the way to the top under his own steam!

Water Boy

Rin had a great time at the park today playing with the faucet. He saw a bigger boy splashing in the water and immediately he wanted to do it too!

Remote Control

Rin has figured out that he can make the TV do things by pointing the remote control at it, so he likes to play with it and push the buttons at random.

World Cup Fever

Here is Rin with his Daddy watching the World Cup highlights on TV this morning. Will he be a soccer fan? Maybe not. He's more interested in the straps on Mommy's camera.

Rin Loves Chihiro

Here is Rin with my student Chihiro.

A Flexible Baby

Here's Rin in one of his many funny sleeping positions.

Daaaaaaa

Here's Rin stretched out on the bed.

Shoes Debut

Here's Rin wearing his first pair of shoes. They're shoes and socks in one, so they're harder for him to pull off!

Half & Half

I left Rin sleeping with his Dad while I taught my morning lesson and when I came back,THIS is how I found him: legs hanging half off the side of the bed and miraculously still fast asleep.

Kintarou and Nishida Go to the Park

Here is Rin getting a push from Mr. Nishida. Recently it's hard to keep him in the seat, as he wants to either stand on it, or get out and push the trike himself!

Call Him KINtarou

Here is Rin wearing his Kintarou smock. He's looking up at the wooden mobile in the baby room at Furatto, which, alas he can no longer enter as of tomorrow as it's for 0-year olds only. Aah... the end of an era.

Kintarou, BTW is a Japanese superbaby who wears a smock, rides on a bear and carries an axe.

Piggy

Here is Rin in his piggy undershirt.

King of Insect

I love love love jumpers with beetles on them for little boys, and this is my current favorite. (He has 2 others.)

Do the Crab Crawl

Rin's graduated from hands and knees to hands and feet.

Haa Haa!

Just try to tell me that isn't the cutest laugh you've ever seen!

Chew Toy

Here's Rin chewing on the foot of his little turtle chew toy. He doesn't like riding in the car very much, but if I sing him the "Turtle Rap' he usually quiets down.

At the Park with Mr. Nishida

Here we are at the park with Mr. Nishida. His wife is finally going to be able to come to Japan in a few weeks. (She had to wait a long time for her visa, and then she got bad morning sickness, but she's alright now) Yeah!

Out with Rosie

I took Rin out to the park with Rosie and we threw the ball around a bit. Rin was very excited to watch Rosie run after the ball and he clapped his hands and bounced up and down.

To Bee or Not to Bee

Here is a happy little bee.

And a grumpy bee

麒麟と麟々 (Rin and the Giraffe)

Here is Rin with his new toy giraffe after we got back from Oji Zoo Monday evening.

At Furatto with Daddy

Daddy came with us to Furatto this weekend and I got some great pictures!

Making Mochi

The other day we stopped by Furatto on the way back from going to check out the sports club (unfortunately they'll be closing in 2 months, so we decided not to join). It just so happened that they were making mochi and all the little ones got to try their hands at pounding the sticky rice. Here is Rin wielding the big mochi mallet.
